Executor:Executor is for anyone who wants to run Macintosh programs on non-Macintoshes. Executor's good points:
Executor's bad points:
Non-obvious Executor details:
Because the currently shipping Executor doesn't run most new Macintosh applications, Executor is usually purchased to run one or more specific Macintosh applications. Many people are referred to ARDI's site by Macintosh application developers who know that their application already runs under Executor. If you have no experience with Executor and are trying to figure out whether a particular application can be run under Executor, the first thing to do is to determine if the application in question requires a PowerPC processor. Such a requirement is usually listed on the side of the box for shrink-wrapped applications. Applications available from the net will often have a requirements section in their web pages. If a Macintosh application requires a PowerPC processor, it can't run with Executor 2.x, and Executor 3.0 is not available yet. If the Macintosh application you'd like to run under Executor can be run on older non-PowerPC based Macintoshes, it may run under Executor, but it still may not. You can search ARDI's Executor Compatibility Database to see if other people have tested the application. If the application you want to run isn't in the compatibility database, you can download a demo of Executor for Windows or Executor for Linux and test it yourself, then add your findings to the database. Executor is not easy to use.
